Do you require teeth whitening?
There are products on the market that are supplied as standard and do not adapt to each patient’s individual needs. This can lead to inconsistent results, gum irritation or other undesirable effects. Only a professional can provide treatment tailored to each patient and give them the correct information.
We must view this treatment as a medical procedure that must be carried out under the supervision of a dentist, and only performed in a dental clinic.
As with other treatments, at Crooke Dental Clinic Marbella we use the best options available on the market.
There are several options: treatment at the clinic, treatment that can be done at home under the supervision of a dentist, or a combination of both, which would be ideal for achieving a whiter, brighter smile.
In-clinic whitening
This type of teeth whitening is innovative and has become extremely popular as it can achieve results of up to 10 shades whiter in just 90 minutes.
The first step is to protect your gums and lips, apply the whitening gel and shine the LED light on your teeth. This gel absorbs the light, intensifying the results without damaging the structure of your teeth. The effect remains active for up to 24 hours afterwards, so you will not see the full results until a day has passed. It is recommended that you do not consume any food or drink that could affect the colour of your teeth, including cigarettes, during the entire process.
It is the fastest treatment, with immediate effects, and if you follow our guidelines, it can last for many years. It is also safe, as we monitor the effects at all times and protect the soft tissues and the area around the mouth.
Home whitening
Home whitening is carried out using custom-made trays that fit the patient’s mouth (thus preventing damage to the gums) and are used with a specific carbamide peroxide-based gel.
With the product we use in our clinic, 1-3 hours a day for 3-10 days is sufficient (depending on the whitening gel we select).
Before undergoing teeth whitening, it is important that your gums are healthy and that you do not have any cavities, as otherwise there is a risk of aggravating gum problems or causing pulpitis (inflammation of the nerve) in teeth with cavities. For this reason, teeth whitening should always be carried out under the supervision of a dentist.
