At Crooke Marbella Dental Clinic we are committed to safety, it is one of our core values. Given the situation caused by the CORONAVIRUS epidemic, Crooke Marbella Dental Clinic informs you that we are adopting in our facilities all the measures necessary and recommended by the Ministry of Health and the Council of Dentists to actively collaborate in the control of the infection.

Next, we explain the new SAFETY PROTOCOL that we have implemented in our dental clinic for your safety and for our team.

Hypochlorous acid

Our facilities are disinfected by air using hypochlorous acid in nebulization that has the AENOR EN 13697 efficacy certificate against COVID 19.

Shoe protection

When you come to our clinic, we will provide you a shoe protection so that street dirt does not affect the cleanliness of our facilities.

Hand washing

Transmission through the hands has been demonstrated. Pollution of the hand with virus and its subsequent inoculation into the oral, nasal or ocular mucosa is an important transmission route. Washing your hands with soap and water is the most important thing. The application of an alcoholic product reinforces it but does not replace it.

REINFORCE HAND WASHING BEFORE AND AFTER EACH PATIENT, FIRST WITH WATER AND SOAP, DRY WITH PAPER AND APPLY THE PRODUCT WITH ALCOHOLIC HYDRO WITH LESS 60% -70%, FOR 20-30 SECONDS UNTIL DRYING OR EVAPORE. Hand washing will be requested of all patients before entering our dental clinic.

Barrier protection methods

Due to transmission routes, all barrier protection measures must be taken: gloves, masks, goggles, hat and work clothes. It is important to remember that the life time of a surgical mask is approximately 2 hours before changing if it is splashed or very wet. When we perform procedures with aerosols we will use an FFP2 mask covered by a surgical mask for maximum protection for both our patients and our staff.

Rinse with mouthwash before dental procedures

The use of certain mouthwashes, prior to dental procedures, has been verified to greatly decrease viral load. COVID-19 is not sensitive to chlorhexidine. We recommend using a 3% hydrogen peroxide mouthwash or 0.2% povidone for 1 minute.

Use of the rubber dam (dental insulation)

The use of rubber dam is always highly recommended, especially in these times of epidemic. Its use has been shown to reduce the viral load present in aerosols by up to 70% generated by dental procedures. Given that despite their use, aerosols are often produced, we are designing new, more powerful vacuum systems to reduce particle spread.

Cleaning and disinfection of work surfaces

During dental procedures, both due to aerosol production and direct contact, work surfaces are contaminated. It is essential to proceed with the cleaning and proper disinfection of all work surfaces after each patient to avoid possible cross contamination. This was already standard practice in dental clinics, but we are reinforcing it with additional patient-patient ventilation for at least 5 minutes. Therefore, we will space the appointments more, we will dedicate extra time to each patient to be even more conscientious in the hygiene of each corner of our facilities. We appreciate your patience if we make you wait a little longer, it is for your safety.

Withdrawal of press and magazines from the waiting room

To avoid possible contagion by direct contact when touching contaminated objects with the hand and then taking it to the oral, nasal or ocular mucosa, it is recommended to remove the press and magazines in the waiting rooms of health facilities. Likewise, we appreciate that you come alone to your appointment, unless it is a child or a person who needs help for any reason. With this we will avoid saturating the waiting room and we will help maintain the safety distance.

TRUST US! THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
